The Passing Of Montana State Legislator

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Montana State Legislator Frank Fleming. Frank and I were friends who just happened to represent differing political parties in our elected positions. We supported one another and listened to one another. After I announced I was running for Congress, Frank sent me a thumbs up and let me know that he was proud of me. Frank was one of my go-to legislators I would talk with about public safety issues. He and I shared a bond in our desire to address public safety needs and funding. I cheered him on at the state legislature and he cheered me on in my work on Billings City Council. We were direct and honest with one another and knew where each other stood on issues. We often discovered that what we wanted in the end was much more alike than different. Frank was open and easy to talk with and that we did. My heart breaks for his family. Frank was a lovely person. I will miss him.
