A Woman Of Grace
I saw this post early yesterday morning before I headed out the door to a ceremony honoring Martin Luther King, Jr., and I thought about it all day. How strong she must have been. How devoted she must have been. How wise she must have been. How protective she must have been. How cautious she must have been. How determined she must have been. And most especially, how scared she must have been.
The work and message of Martin Luther King, Jr. deserves honor of the greatest magnitude, but it's important to remember that he did not do that work alone. In the most private of moments, he had a woman of grace, intelligence, strength, and power beside him working as well. And that must have given him peace, encouragement, and internal strength. He knew he was not alone. He could do so much because she did so much. Their children are right. When honoring their father remember to honor their mother.
Thank you, King family. Thank you.
